Sherwood Park PCN Career Opportunites


Sherwood Park - Strathcona County PCN is a non-profit health care organization founded by the physicians of Sherwood Park to help them improve the quality of primary care in our community.  Working with Alberta Health Services, our goal is to help physicians in providing chronic and complex care management to our patients.  Working in a PCN is a great way to help out your community.  Our PCN continues to search for qualified and enthusiastic clinical and administrative staff to help our physicians succeed.  If you have a dynamic personality, if you are eager to help patients and if you are interested in working in a fun-filled environment, give us a try.

Recruitment and Selection

All employment opportunities at Sherwood Park - Strathcona County Primary Care Network are posted for a minimum 10 working day period.  They are posted on Sherwood Park - Strathcona County Primary Care Network's website, in the local newspaper and on the websites of affiliated organizations.  Occasionally, they are posted outside the local area and on employment websites and/or newspapers.  The General Manager reserves the right to post a position as an internal or external posting.  An internal posting will be circulated via email to all PCN staff for a minimum of 10 days.  Applications are encouraged from current employees but will be screened in the same manner as applications received from outside applicants.

Applicants are invited to submit their application, along with a current résumé, demonstrating that they meet the minimum criteria for the position being sought.  At the closing date, all applications are screened, and candidates selected for interview are contacted.  Interviews will be attended by a minimum of 2 PCN employees for non-management positions, for management positions, the PCN may opt for a physician to be present.  If the interview is positive, a minimum of 2 references will be contacted.  Depending on the feedback provided, a position may be offered to the applicant. 
All applicants must provide a minimum of 3 references and provide a current  criminal records check. 

To ensure a second level of review, all applications will be reviewed by a minimum of two PCN employees, one being a PCN Manager.
